CASA DEL ACONCAGUA

This project focuses on an environmental quality fitted to an extremely hot and dry climate. The house has a mutable skin to either protect-from or open-to the landscape. The house sits below a long-eaved roof and ahas a seriaes of mobile shade screens. The use of vented roofs and walls, as well as cross ventilation is another resiliency strategy. An inner courtyard provides a protected exterior space, a strategy deviced by traditional hot-arid architectures.
